Liberty Pass is celebrating its 6th anniversary this year

Liberty Pass is celebrating its 6th anniversary! Let’s look back on a sailing adventure that began in 2020, driven by our subscribers, our partners, and a passion for sailing freely.

20266 years of adventure
It's been 6 years already!

In 2026, Liberty Pass will celebrate its sixth anniversary. Six years of sailing, new encounters, new boats, new ports, and above all, moments shared with the people who bring this adventure to life every day: subscribers, boat owners, and professionals.

Since the launch of Liberty Pass in May 2020, our goal has remained the same: to make boating more accessible and allow people to enjoy a boat on a regular basis without having to deal with all the hassles of ownership.

But a birthday is also an opportunity to look back on how far we've come.

And a lot has happened in six years!

2020–2026

The History of Liberty Pass

When Liberty Pass was launched in 2020, the project was based on a simple observation.

Many people enjoy sailing. Many even dream of owning their own boat. But between the purchase price, the dock space, insurance, maintenance, winter storage, and the time required to manage it, becoming a boat owner is a significant commitment.

On the other hand, renting a boat on an occasional basis doesn't always meet the expectations of those who want to sail regularly and return to a boat they're familiar with.

So we had to come up with another approach.

Liberty Pass was developed around this idea: to offer a solution that allows boaters to sail regularly throughout the year, with a structure designed to make life easier for recreational boaters.

Six years later, this belief continues to guide our growth: you can love the sea, love sailing, and fully enjoy a boat without necessarily owning one.

6 yearsof sailing and adventure
The concept

An idea turned into a revolutionary solution

Six years later, the guiding principle remains the same: to put the joy of sailing back at the heart of the experience.

Over the past six years, Liberty Pass has evolved significantly, but its founding principle has remained unchanged: to put the joy of sailing back at the heart of the experience.

With us, you choose your boat, book your trips, and then set off for a few hours, a day, a weekend, or longer, depending on your package.

And best of all: you don't have to deal with all the things that traditionally come with boat ownership.

It is this simplicity that allows our members to make sailing a regular, hassle-free activity.

After six years, we continue to stand by our vision: a boat is, above all, meant for sailing.

What We Celebrate

Six years of history, but above all, six years of human adventure

01

Boaters

Who discovered a new way to sail.

02

The Owners

Who have chosen to entrust their boats to the network.

03

Professionals

Dealers and other members of the boating industry who provide local support to members.

04

The Teams

Who work every day to improve the experience.

And that's probably what we most want to celebrate on our 6th anniversary.

Your experiences

Hear from our subscribers

Over the years, people from all walks of life have joined Liberty Pass, all driven by the same desire: to get more out of sailing.

Some were already experienced boaters who no longer wanted to deal with the hassles of boat ownership. Others wanted to get back into boating after several years away. Some had initially planned to buy a boat. And for others, Liberty Pass was simply a gateway to boating.

These testimonials are important to us because they tell the story of Liberty Pass from your perspective: what you actually experience, your experience!

The network

Hearing from Professionals and Partners

The story of Liberty Pass is also the story of the professionals who place their trust in us.

From the very beginning, our business model has been based on a local presence. Dealers, boating professionals, and partners play a vital role in the experience we offer our subscribers: preparing the boats, providing support, helping subscribers get started, and sharing their knowledge of the sailing area.

This interplay between technology, a network of professionals, and personalized support is an integral part of our vision for recreational boating.

A Growing Selection

New boats and new destinations every year

Six years of history also means six years of rolling out the Liberty Pass offering in France and internationally.

Every year brings its share of new developments: new boats join the fleet, and new sailing options become available within the network.

Rigid-hulled inflatable boats, motorboats, sailboats, boats suited for day trips, weekend getaways, or cruises… each boater has their own way of using their boat.

Our goal, therefore, is to continue offering solutions tailored to your various browsing profiles.

Because you don’t choose the same boat for a few-hour family outing as you would for a multi-day sailing trip. And because your preferences also change as you gain experience.

A member may start out by going on day trips before, a few years later, wanting to try out other boats or go on longer trips.

That’s also what growing Liberty Pass is all about: expanding the browsing possibilities as our community’s interests evolve.

Our Vision

Six years… and still the same passion for advancing the sport of sailing

Boating is changing.

Consumption habits are also changing.

Today, boat ownership is no longer the only option that boaters consider when they want to sail regularly.

Boat rentals, boat co-ownership, yacht clubs, boat memberships… new solutions make it possible to tailor your boating experience to your budget, your available time, and your actual needs.

For the past six years, Liberty Pass has been contributing to this trend.

Our role is not to say that boat ownership no longer makes sense. It remains perfectly suited to certain boaters.

We take a different view: it should no longer be a necessary step to enjoy regular use of a boat.

A subscription is a good option for those who want to focus on usage, simplicity, and the enjoyment of browsing.

That was our belief in 2020.

She still is, six years later.

To the entire community

Thank you for writing this story with us

An anniversary is often an opportunity to talk about numbers, growth, or how far we've come.

But for our 6th anniversary, more than anything, we wanted to say thank you.

Thank you to our first subscribers, who placed their trust in us when Liberty Pass was just getting started.

Thank you to those who have joined us since then.

Thank you to the professionals, dealers, owners, and partners who help the network grow.

Thank you to everyone who provides us with feedback, shares their experiences, and encourages us to continually improve our service.

And thank you to everyone who is spreading the word about Liberty Pass and helping, in their own way, to raise awareness of a new way to browse the web.

Six years after our launch, our greatest source of satisfaction remains the same: seeing boats leave the harbor and people enjoying sailing to the fullest.

So yes, we're very happy to be celebrating our 6th anniversary.

But above all, we can't wait to see what happens next.

New ships. New ports. New destinations in France and abroad. New partners. New subscribers.

And, of course, plenty of new experiences out at sea!

Thank you for being part of the Liberty Pass adventure.

And let's meet on the water to write the next chapter together.

The rest is written on water

It's been 6 years already. And this is just the beginning.

New boats, new ports, new destinations, and above all, new experiences to enjoy on the open water. Discover Liberty Pass and join the adventure.
